Please understand the South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC) Mail Policy Rules. Knowing these rules ensures your Flikshop reaches your loved one without delay or rejection.
Mail rules can vary between Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) All personal mail for TDCJ inmates is sent to the Digital Mail Processing Center (DMPC) in Dallas, Texas, where it is sorted, scanned in color, and uploaded to the resident's secure Securus tablet. Physical copies of personal mail are no longer delivered. Mail sent directly to units will be returned to sender. Personal mail is delivered digitally. Mail is scanned in full color and uploaded to the resident's secure tablet.

Include the correct addressing information. Mail must include the resident's full committed name, TDCJ number, and assigned unit.

Digital mail stays on the resident's tablet. Once processed, it remains available on their secure tablet, even if they transfer to another unit.

Do not include prohibited content. Mail cannot contain nudity, sexually explicit content, gang-related material, weapons, escape plans, threats, or anything that threatens the safety or security of the facility.

Books, magazines, and legal mail follow different rules. These items are delivered physically to the correctional unit and are not processed through the digital mail system.

Processing takes several business days. After the mail reaches the processing center, it is typically scanned and made available within about 3 business days.
