Physical mail is allowed. Mail is opened and inspected by staff before being delivered to the resident.

Include the resident's full name and KDOC number. Mail must also have a valid return address or it may be returned.

Do not use stickers or decals. Mail with decorative stickers or similar items may be rejected.

Photos are permitted. Images cannot contain nudity, sexually explicit content, gang-related imagery, or weapons.

Do not include prohibited content. Mail cannot contain threats, escape plans, gang symbols, coded messages, obscene language, or anything that could threaten the safety or security of the facility.

Books and publications must come from an authorized distributor. Personal shipments of books or magazines are generally not accepted.

Rejected mail is returned. Both the sender and the resident are notified if mail is rejected, and the resident may appeal the decision.
