Most Kentucky facilities accept your Flikshop without restriction

The majority of Kentucky county jails and state facilities accept postcards, photos, and letters as-is. A few high volume facilities set their own rules. If you're sending to one of these three, here's exactly what to expect.

Family sending photos to incarcerated loved one

Distance shouldn't break a family connection

There are over 13,000 justice impacted individuals currently incarcerated across Kentucky's 14 state prisons. A simple photo can remind someone that they are loved, remembered, and not alone.

Kentucky still delivers physical mail directly to residents, meaning your Flikshop Postcard, Photo Print, or Letter arrives as a real, tangible object your loved one can hold and keep.

Flikshop helps Kentucky families stay connected through meaningful photo mail, bridging the distance with something real you can hold. We have spent 14+ years getting approved at facility after facility so your mail actually arrives.

Flikshop is approved by the Kentucky Department of Corrections (KDOC).

Flikshop Products Delivered to Kentucky Facilities

Every Flikshop is a real printed photo on cardstock, mailed directly from our secure facility to your loved one's Kentucky institution. Your family connection is too important to leave to a pixelated screen.

Kentucky's KDOC mail policy  allows physical mail. Meaning your Flikshop arrives as something real your loved one can hold, tape to their wall, and keep. Every order is printed in full color on real cardstock and mailed directly to their facility.

Flikshop offers Photo Postcards, Photo Prints, Letters, and Flikbooks for Kentucky facilities. All designed to comply with KDOC Policy CPP 16.2. Each uses a metered pre- printed stamp (no adhesive stickers or stamps that violate KDOC rules).

KNOW THE RULES

Our photos are delivered to thousands of facilities nationwide

Please understand the Kentucky Department of Corrections (KDOC) Mail Policy Rules.  Knowing these rules ensures your Flikshop reaches your loved one without delay or rejection.

Mail rules can vary between Kentucky Department of Corrections (KDOC) state facilities and county jails in Kentucky. Some county jails use third-party scanning systems. Always confirm your specific facility's current rules at corrections.ky.gov or contact the facility directly. Full KDOC mail policy: CPP 16.2. Questions? Email Flikshop at info@flikshop.com

  • Physical mail is allowed. Mail is opened and inspected by staff before being delivered to the resident.

  • Include the resident's full name and KDOC number. Mail must also have a valid return address or it may be returned.

  • Do not use stickers or decals. Mail with decorative stickers or similar items may be rejected.

  • Photos are permitted. Images cannot contain nudity, sexually explicit content, gang-related imagery, or weapons.

  • Do not include prohibited content. Mail cannot contain threats, escape plans, gang symbols, coded messages, obscene language, or anything that could threaten the safety or security of the facility.

  • Books and publications must come from an authorized distributor. Personal shipments of books or magazines are generally not accepted.

  • Rejected mail is returned. Both the sender and the resident are notified if mail is rejected, and the resident may appeal the decision.

  • Flikshop Postcards, Letters, and Prints are designed to follow common Kentucky Department of Corrections mail guidelines, helping families stay connected more easily and reliably.

Mail rules can vary by individual facility within KDOC. We recommend confirming your specific facility's rules. Flikshop customer service is available at info@flikshop.com.

"Flikshop was founded because I experienced incarceration myself and understand how important family connection can be. My mother's photos that she sent me saved my life while I was in prison."
