Kansas' Department of Corrections facilities photocopy all incoming personal mail — both the envelope and its contents — and hand-deliver the physical copies to residents. Originals are retained by the facility. Your loved one receives a real paper copy they can hold and keep. KDOC confirmed: "We do not scan mail. Photos and letters are welcome. Kansas facilities accept personal letters and photographs. Photos must be appropriate and free of nudity, gang-related imagery, or other prohibited content. Flikshop reviews images before printing to help prevent delivery issues.
