Family sending photos to incarcerated loved one

Distance shouldn't break a family connection

Alabama has over 20,000 people in state custody — and tens of thousands of families holding things together on the outside. Research consistently shows that people with strong family contact during incarceration are more likely to come home and stay home. A postcard is a small thing that does a big job. Flikshop makes it easy to send one from wherever you are.

Flikshop prints every postcard and letter at high resolution in full color specifically to reproduce well under photocopy conditions. Your loved one may receive a copy rather than the original, but the photo and message they hold will still be vivid, full-color, and meaningful.

Flikshop is approved by the  Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC)

What actually happens when your Flikshop reaches a Alabama facility?

Alabama State facilities process incoming mail through Centralized Digital mail system used across the Alabama Department of Corrections system. Here's what that means for you: your photo, letter, or Flikbook page gets scanned and reprinted before it reaches your incarcerated neighbor. The original doesn't go into the facility. A clear colored copy does.

Your photo is seen. Your words are read. Your love still gets through. The process is designed to keep contraband out and ensure  facilities are safe while making it easier for families to stay connected.

Real Photos. Real Connections.

Flikshop Postcards
Built for Alabama Families

Every Flikshop postcard are specifically designed to pass through ADOC's mail processing facility. Flikshop prints in high-resolution full color. Alabama's digital mail system scans every postcard in full color and delivers it permanently to your loved one's secure tablet. Your photo and message are saved there coming back to it when they need it most is always just a tap away.

Subheading-2_edited_edited.jpg

Alabama scans all incoming personal mail in full color and delivers it digitally to the resident's secure tablet profile. Flikshop prints at high resolution, optimized for the scanning process  so your photo arrives vivid and clear, not washed out or pixelated.

One real advantage of Alabama's system: your postcard is permanently stored on their tablet. It doesn't get lost in a cell search, it doesn't fade, and it travels with them through any facility transfer. Every Flikshop you send is always there.

KNOW THE RULES

Our postcards are delivered to thousands of facilities nationwide

Please understand the Alabama's Department of Corrections (ADOC) Mail Policy Rules. Alabama routes all non privileged personal mail, including postcards and letters, through Central Mail system for color photocopying. Here is what that means for your family and how Flikshop navigates it.

Alabama's Department of Corrections  tate facilities must now go to ALDOC Inmate Mail Processing, P.O. Box 17339, San Antonio, TX 78217. Mail sent directly to a facility after November 10, 2025 is returned to sender. The mail vendor scans the contents in full color and delivers them as digital images on the resident's secure tablet. Legal mail still goes directly to the facility. Flikshop routes every Alabama order automatically. Full ADOC mail policy at doc.alabama.gov.

  • Personal mail is scanned in color. Photos, letters, and postcards are scanned in full color before being delivered electronically. Flikshop uses high-quality printing to help your photos and messages appear bright and clear.

  • We send your mail to the correct processing center. Alabama requires personal mail to be sent to its approved mail processing center rather than directly to the correctional facility. Flikshop automatically routes every Alabama order to the correct address, so there's nothing extra you need to do.

  • Messages stay available. Once delivered, personal mail is stored on your loved one's secure tablet, allowing them to revisit your photos and messages whenever they need a reminder that they're loved and supported.

  • Include the correct recipient information. Be sure to provide your loved one's full name and Alabama Institutional Serial (AIS) number. Flikshop formats every Alabama order correctly during checkout.

  • Keep your mail simple. Do not include stickers, perfume, glitter, tape, or other prohibited items. Flikshop postcards are produced using compliant materials to help avoid mailroom delays or rejection.

  • Use appropriate photos and messages. Photos and messages containing explicit content, gang-related material, threats, or other prohibited content may be rejected. Flikshop reviews images before printing to help reduce delivery issues.

  • Legal mail follows different procedures. Legal correspondence is handled separately from personal mail and must be sent directly to the correctional facility.

  • Why families choose Flikshop. Every Alabama order is prepared to meet ADOC mailing requirements with proper formatting, addressing, and high quality printing, making it easy to stay connected with your loved one.

County jail mail rules in Alabama vary by facility. Many county jails use their own scanning systems and have different addresses. Always confirm your specific county jail's current mail rules before sending. Questions? Email info@flikshop.com. Federal BOP facilities in Wisconsin operate independently of the DOC mail system.
